Gary Martin Hays
Gary Martin Hays is the owner of Gary’s Bistro. He and his wife, Sheri, and their three daughters, Audrey, Ashleigh and Ava live in Gwinnett County. Because of Gary’s unpredictable schedule, as well as Sheri running a taxi service for their girls, they have become experts in “dining out” over the years. Gary and Sheri wanted to create a restaurant that had all the food, drinks, and the atmosphere they liked under one roof. When the opportunity came along to buy a restaurant that had closed its doors, they immediately agreed.
“It is our hope that Gary’s Bistro will be your favorite place for great food – great drinks and great times!” said Hays.
Gary graduated from Emory University in 1986 with a B.A. degree in Political Science, and a minor in Afro-American and African Studies. In 1989, he received his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law of Mercer University, Macon, Georgia. His outstanding academic achievements landed him a position on Mercer’s Law Review. He also served the school as Vice President of the Student Bar Association.
Upon his graduation in 1989, Mr. Hays began his legal career with a law firm that represented insurance companies. In 1993, he and Duncan Maysilles formed the firm HAYS & MAYSILLES, P.C. in Atlanta. Upon Mr. Maysilles’s retirement at the end of 1999, the firm has continued as the Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays & Associates, P.C. His firm specializes in personal injury, wrongful death, worker’s compensation, and pharmaceutical claims. Since 1993, his firm has helped over 25,000 victims and their families.
Gary is a member of the Million Dollar Advocate’s Forum, a Champion member of the Georgia Trial Lawyer’s Association, a member of the Georgia Civil Justice Pac, and serves on the Board of Directors for Georgia’s WINPAC, a political action committee engaged in lobbying efforts on behalf of the injured worker in Georgia. He is also a sustaining member of the American Trial Lawyer’s Association. He has been recognized in Atlanta Magazine as one of Georgia’s top worker’s compensation lawyers.
Mr. Hays currently hosts “Georgia Behind The Scenes” on the CW Atlanta TV Network. He has hosted a radio talk show on News Talk 1340 WGAU, and has been a regular guest on WKHX, WYAY, and WNGC. He has been interviewed by Mike Hegedus of CNBC, and has appeared on WSB TV, WXIA, and WAGA.
His firm supports several charities and organizations, including Keep Georgia Safe, a non-profit he founded in 2008 to provide safety education and crime prevention training in Georgia. Keep Georgia Safe has trained over 80 state and local law enforcement officers in CART (Child Abduction Response Teams) so our first responders will know what to do in the event a child is abducted in Georgia. He is very active in his support of the American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and he has served on the Advisory Council for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). His firm has given away 1,000 bicycle helmets and 14 college scholarships.
